Its really a good app, but it could really be better if we can choose the characters to learn

Its not comprehensive enough to justify paying for it. The drawing of kanjis is not explained, nor are the basic translation.
It would be nice to have kanji plus furigana when studying vocabulary instead of hiragana only currently. Also, being able to study kanjis grouped in increasing count of strokes would be nice.
The free version only gives the most basic Japanese words and kanji for studying. However there are 750 of them so that easily gives You a lot more to study than some of the other tree apps . This is not a native app for the iPad ,So you have to use the 2x view to use the full screen. You can randomize the Words and it has a nice methodology which gives you the Words in both directions: 1. English and you have to pick the Correct Japanese word- 2. Japanese word and you guess the English meaning. It only moves on to the next set of words after you have correctly guessed the meanings of the words you missed. There is also a feature to tap again to move onto the next word . this is Convenient so you can learn or go review the current word. Summary: Good for learning and reviewing words. but not great for grammar or reading comprehension or listening skills . you Will need other study aids if you are studying above N3 level. Unite if I will buy the paid version.
Ok applet. Was great until they included adds which block out parts of the Kanji. Poor ad execution in the free version has made me hesitant to upgrade. The paid version would be unusable if it maintained these ads.
I was planning on buying the app once I finish N5 (Im almost done) but, recently the adds just annoys me so much Im not using it anymore. MC questions are not the best way to learn and I try to hide the choices but if I cant remember the answer I look at the choices to give me a hint. The functionnality are limited and the adds are intrusive. Not sure I will risk buying it anymore. Sorry. Thanks anyway, it was nice while it last.
Im preparing for jlpt 2 next year ... Thanks for this wondeful free application ... Its really a big help...!!! :)
一日= tuitachi when we are saying "first of the month", not ichinichi (which means "one day").
some of the Hiragana words dont match the Kanji, my Japanese friends couldnt work out if the Kanji was wrong, or the Hiragana was wrong.
This is a great free app, though the new version seems to forget how much you have studied when you close and reopen. Before the update it remembered how many words or kanji you are studying, but now it doesnt. But still a great app.
Fantastic! In an easy way, now, I can remember a lot of kanji! Thank u
This is a really useful program (and its not easy to find a good one) to learn kanji and Japanese vocabulars. You have to know hiragana and katakana first but its easy to go on learning kanji. Im using the trial version and Im very glad with it; maybe Ill buy the advanced one when Ive finished this.
Its a very good memory/flash card system that covers most of the basics. Its very easy to pickup and start at any time and the free version sets you up with enough beginner kanji. The only problem is that you cant reset the number of words left to study so if you get a perfect on a quiz a few times you cant do the quiz again for practice. Havent tested if reinstalling the app fixes that but all the same Id like it to be accessable. Just got the paid for the full version
Great study app for Japanese. Probably one of the better ones Ive tried actually! Just needs a reset button for the tests. When that happens, Ill definitely get the full version. (is there a way I can be updated on this?)
This app keeps shuting off when I use it
This a good learning app for learning and retaining vocabulary, especially if you are already studying Japanese. People say that this app needs a reset button for the tests but actually if you leave alone for a a few days, you can retake the quizzes. So if you have 0 words left to study, dont play for a few days and the number will go back up so you can practice again. I would like to see an option to remove the furigana for the vocabluary quizzes that include kanji. And for the kanji quizzes to include furigana, and not just the meaning.
I really like this app. Its snappy and easy to use. I agree with other posters that it is often too easy to guess and that this should be improved. I use this for 5-10 minutes every day.
I wanted to try this app but after 3 seconds it shuts down =(
Ive been studying Japanese at university for four years, this app is outstanding if you are just learning or wanting to brush up. Im a big believer in not using romaji or English letters when learning Japanese and was very pleased that this app doesnt use that crutch. There are hiragana & katakana charts for those just starting out. A wonderful app & free!
Great program. Wish the free app had more levels.
